Coterie pillow inserts are available in feather and down alternative fill, with sizes designed to fit every pillow cover available on Coterie. Filled in the USA, our inserts are offered in square, lumbar and extra-long lumbar sizes. For a soft, moldable pillow that can hold a classic karate chop, choose feather. For a feather-free option, choose our down alternative fill.
What Size Pillow Insert Should I Use?
For a full, professionally styled pillow, we generally recommend choosing a pillow insert 2 inches larger than the pillow cover. For example, pair an 18x18 pillow cover with a 20x20 insert, or a 14x20 lumbar pillow cover with a 16x20 lumbar insert. The slightly larger insert fills the corners of the cover and creates a fuller shape.
Our pillow inserts, sometimes called pillow forms, are available in a range of square and lumbar sizes to fit Coterie pillow covers. Choosing the right insert size is especially important for decorative throw pillows, where an undersized insert can leave the cover looking flat or loose.
Feather vs. Down Alternative Pillow Inserts
Our feather pillow inserts are filled with 95% feather and 5% down for a soft, substantial feel that can be shaped and fluffed easily. They're a good choice if you prefer a relaxed, moldable pillow or the traditional karate-chopped look.
Our down alternative pillow inserts are filled with recycled polyester and offer a feather-free option with a soft, full shape. Both fill options have a 100% cotton shell and are filled in the USA.
Square, Lumbar and Long Lumbar Pillow Inserts
Square pillow inserts work with traditional throw pillow covers and can be layered in different sizes on sofas, chairs and beds. Lumbar pillow inserts create a lower rectangular shape, while long lumbar inserts are designed for our extra-long pillow covers and work especially well as a single statement pillow across a sofa, bench or bed.

We accept returns and exchanges of items returned within 30 days of delivery date. Item(s) should be in their original condition, unused, and free from any damage or alterations. Customers are responsible return shipping costs.
Exchange Credit: We offer free exchange shipping labels for pillow covers (excludes inserts) + a 15% credit on exchange requests.
Bulk / Large order returns (10 or more pillow covers): Due to the time and resource intensive nature of constructing your covers, we offer the following options for bulk/large order returns:
